There is a thin line between ‘foodie’ and ‘binge eating’ and we can often miss the signs when we have slipped into binge eating mode. If you listen to your body, it is constantly giving you signs about your health. Binge eating is your body indicating an unhealthy lifestyle.
While I am sure my parents did the best they could to teach me to be healthy, I do feel I would have saved myself a lot of trouble as an adult had I engaged a lot more with mindful eating habits as a priority when I was a child. Of course, times were different, as we did not know of many options and ways that are accessible today.
A couple of years ago, I let go of make-up and external dependencies to look good. I wasn’t against make-up at all, but my relationship was questionable. I have also grown up in a household that believes that all solutions are inside us. However, I did not buy that initially and spent loads of money for a glowing skin but took a ‘u-turn’ eventually! When I gave up make-up, naturally I started to focus a lot on inner health because I still wanted to have a glowing skin (who doesn’t want to!) but chose a different route.
Food has a vital role to play in nourishing the body with the required nutrients that help to maintain and implement regular physical functioning. It won’t be an exaggeration to say that just by sticking to healthy food habits and eating the right food with an understanding of their nutritional value one can maintain good health for lifelong!
Our choices of foods determine our health, however diseases are multifactorial but with the right choice of foods, one can achieve and sustain a good state of health. Our food choices make a huge impact on our well-being; a well-balanced diet can help one fighting with diseases like diabetes, cancer, obesity, cardiovascular and many more.
